I started flying radio controlled models in 1999, with a Kyosho Nexus helicopter. But the expensive learning curve of RC helicopters brought fixed-wing models to my attention! My first kit airplane was a Great Planes PT-40, which I had flown for three years. Since then I have flown a wide variety of RC airplanes and have enjoyed every minute of it.
My interest in aviation grew from there, and in April of 2005 I entered flight school. And to increase my immersion in aviation, I later started instruction for A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) certification in July of 2006. Once finished with this program, I plan to get ratings in instrument, CFI, CFII, and multiengine.
I'm now working as an airframe mechanic for Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, Nebraska. I finished both my private pilot's license, and my A & P license in December 2007. I don't get to fly full scale or Rc very much lately because of work, but hope to get back into RC as soon as I can.
